SANTA BARBARA

Part of a larger development of approximately twenty homes dispersed across a hillside ranch near Santa Barbara, the project sits on top of a plateau at the peak of the community with commanding panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands to the west and the Santa Ynez Mountains to the east.

The project is designed to create a series of unique outdoor spaces for the full enjoyment of its natural Southern California setting. The main house wraps around a central courtyard, a modern interpretation of traditional Hacienda architecture, which also protects from ocean winds on cooler days and provides ample daylight from all directions throughout the day and stargazing at night.

Each space within the home opens directly to outdoor terraces with unobstructed views. The main living space connects directly to the pool terrace with full height glazing that pockets into adjacent walls to create a seamless blend of indoor-outdoor living, while the pool itself contains planted islands with trees that frame the sunset. The estate also contains a wellness retreat, guest house, underground parking garage cars as well as a helicopter landing pad.
